Salman

Salman was a very happy go lucky guy. He was much pampered kid and he was the only son of Aamir and Sajida Begum.  Aamir runs one of the oldest and very popular eatery in Lucknow. He had many other businesses as well. He was well respected in his community. Sajida Begum was a very actively helping in getting justice to women of her community. Both had put a lot of effort to bring up Salman with lot of value system. They thought he is not learning the hardship of life as he is being provided with whatever he wants.  One or the other member of the family will provide Salman with whatever he asks for. Being in a joint family, everyone else was reluctant to send Salman for his engineering to Bangalore. He, being the only son in the joint family, it was difficult decision for Sajida but she held her ground. She wanted him to learn and see different groups of people and understand how to stay with limited resources. Salman was put in a college which was quite far from ...

A page from my diary…

A page from my diary… The year is bidding goodbye and as a practice I am summing up what I am today! This year… Its 31st night, sitting in my luxurious penthouse overseeing the ocean from the 40th floor. While the city is illuminated and some stunning firework display painting the dark sky with various hues, I am enjoying the breeze flowing through the window, sipping my Charosa Tempranillo from my favorite groove of the house. This is the place from where I had made so many important decisions for the company as well as for my life. This corner place of my house makes me feel quite relaxed and composed. It almost always gives me strength to look ahead in life whatsoever. It’s like being in the lap of my Mom... I miss her. And comes tomorrow, a new chapter, a new diary, a new day and a new year… Will any of these things change our life or will it be the same old life that we will get back to?  I have never been so blank; I had been clear about what I shall write o...

Happiness…

Happiness… It was a stressed morning; I had an important meeting to attend. It was a big order for a company of our size, clients had arrived from Mumbai and they wanted to look at our samples, presentation and Facilities... I was not keeping well from morning but didn't want to assign the work to my Managers, so I decided to meet the client. Anyhow decided to drive myself and started for the meeting. While crossing the signals at a cross road, I could feel something wrong, images in front of me were going blur...I slowed down my car and then I am not sure what happened... Next I remember, opening my eyes in a hospital. I could see my worried wife sitting next my bed, her tears not yet dry. Gathering some strength I asked her, “Where am I? And how come you are here?” Instead of answering me she rushed out to call the doctor... After the examination doctor said, “He is quite fine, let us keep him on observation for two to three days.” Eager to know about myself, I ...

Just a snake...

Just a snake... Here I am slithering across, Waste lands and slippery rocks, Pulling myself through forest and hillocks, Keeping myself alive and aloof, I can’t blame myself that I eat rat and frogs Definitely expect credit, For the scavengers job, Here I am despised by, One and all, And I try my best to see you never find me, I am scared of all of you, When I see you I gitter, Shy myself from dwellers, Hiding in holes and gutters, You came to my dome, And made it your home, And when I appear, You made sure I disappear, I am a humble creature, Meaning no harm to anyone, With no future, what so ever, I am known as a killer, But I am, Just a snake...
